First RiLineX Deployment Secures Future Growth

One of South Africa’s leading providers of industrial boilers, energy solutions and environmental systems required a complete, climate-controlled industrial enclosure system to house and protect its electrical distribution and control equipment.

The solution

Rittal delivered a turnkey solution, including custom modified VX baying enclosures (complete with plinths and trim panels), its award-winning RiLineX busbar systems and Blue e+ cooling units for active climate control.

Designed to revolutionise power distribution inside electrical enclosures, RiLineX is a game-changer for panel builders, integrators and operators, enabling safe and efficient distribution of electricity to multiple devices, more easily than ever.

It features quick-mount adaptors for speedy installation without the need for traditional wiring and cable runs. Its modular design makes it versatile, allowing for customised layouts even in space-restricted or vertical panels. The RiLineX supports AC and DC systems up to 1000 V AC or 1500 V DC, and it offers short-circuit ratings up to 65 kA and hazard protection up to IP 2xb (upgradeable to IP 4X).

The results

Despite it being a first-time order with this customer – involving new product introductions, stock constraints and drawing-related delays – the team carefully managed planning, verification and follow-up to ensure accuracy and minimise risk. Deployment with a Turnkey IT Infrastructure Solution

A local omni-channel retailer had built a state-of-the-art robotic warehouse facility and required a complete server room to house all the IT equipment needed to manage the robotics – including cabinets, colocation racks, cooling solutions and containment.

Rittal recommended the FR IT flat-pack enclosure – designed for rapid deployment, offering tool-free, single-person installation and expansion. It’s also a robust solution, with a load capacity of up to 1,500 kg, making it ideal for a range of applications – including server room projects.

The solution

Rittal responded with the delivery, installation and commissioning of a turnkey solution that covered infrastructure as well as monitoring, cooling and power distribution, all supported through the FR IT as the backbone of the installation.

Rittal supplied five FR IT cabinets, a colocation compartment rack, three 20 kW liquid cooling packages, and a containment unit that was specially modified in the Rittal MOD Centre to meet the customer’s unique requirements. “We equipped the whole server room and accounted for additional space should the customer need to expand this facility in the future,” explains Joleen Maritz, IT Infrastructure Sales Specialist: Sub-Saharan Africa, Rittal

The results

With the FR IT, Rittal were able to supply the customer’s full cabinet requirement in a third of the time it would usually take (while maintaining a market-competitive price).

The customer is highly satisfied with the outcome and is now exploring the rollout of a similar solution across its other sites.
